I made it onto your blog. That's ...Yeeeaaahhhh! I made it onto your blog. That's really why I wanted to do your hair. But I had such a great time--thanks for letting me be a part of your celebration! Seriously, anytime you want your hair done I'd love to do it. We can try a different style or something next time!Liz Lambsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11283213867222076190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7714899406725646.post-64403019828647279772012-08-02T18:56:50.309-07:002012-08-02T18:56:50.309-07:00Aaaaahhh! The fine line between making your child continue with lessons when she really doesn't want to do the required practicing--and letting her quit because the whole situation feels like I am a parental tyrant expecting practice for the investment in time and money I made for my child to learn how to play the piano well enough to sit down and plunk out a FEW songs.

Ah, me. If my mother had not insisted I continue when my dad said--many times--for me to quit, I would be in the "regret" phase of that part of my life, too. But, my mother was determined to have ONE of her children play--and since I was the last, she pinned all her hopes on me. I am a plugger. But, I can play.

You'll get over the regret some day, I am sure, Britty.

Love, Momma

PS I LOVE this picture--such a delightful image of a wonderful person. Your whole face lights up when you smiled in this picture.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
