SNOW DAY

This morning when Wyatt and I woke, we were greeted with a white winter blanket. Having grown up in Denver and lived in Chicago for a handful of years, you're first thought might be, "so what?". But let me remind you that I live in the great Northwest...where it doesn't snow, it rains. So today's snow was an extremely special treat! Did I mention they canceled church? Not that I didn't want to go to church but that is just a demonstration that the whole city shut down. (Think about it...lots of hills and limited resources to clean the roads.) To make up for the absence of church Wyatt gave a great "church service" on Christmas, we sang a few carols and wrote down "What Christmas Means to Me" for my family newsletter. You can see our snowy pictures below...

Looks like you had fun on your snow day. Our snow day consisted of about an inch. They cancelled church here too....it kind of makes me laugh.

I want to eat that french toast. It looks so delicious. What kind of bread did you use? Did you add egg nog to it?

We haven't had a snow day yet. When I keep wishing for one, people at work think I'm crazy.

i can't believe they canceled church!! i guess that's because i live in utah where it takes like 5 feet of snow for church to be canceled.

looks like you guys had fun...my kids were bummed because just a week ago I was doing some fall cleaning and gave thier sled to goodwill. I think it was a good move after all the sledding accidents I have seen the last to nights in the ER

If snow is even in the forecast down here, bread and milk disappear and everything is closed and canceled. All for a quarter of an inch... :)

Reminds me of when we lived in Virginia and they cancelled school for the next day on the strength of the forecast! And, a second snow storm was on Sunday and Church was cancelled, too.

Once in a while it is kind of fun--even in Colorado it has been, though just a limited number of times over the years.

This last Sunday we woke up to snow, too, but along with the snow were below zero temperatures. I am getting too old for that. I didn't walk to church on Sunday, and I didn't go for my regular walk on Monday until noon and today it was 3:30 pm. I dread tomorrow morning as I will have to go before I leave for the airport. And it will be early, and cold, and a clear sky which makes it even colder.

Missed your morning calls.
Love, Momma
