Jeanna's Graduated!

Wyatt and I flew to Utah this past weekend to celebrate the graduation of this lady, Jeanna, our sister-in-law. Jeanna is one amazing woman! She went back to school after two kids and 13 years of marriage. We are so happy and excited for her! Way to go Jeanna! It was a fun trip because we got to see our families (them and them) and friends (him and them). The other fun part was the horrible ear infection I had Friday night and Saturday (I'm being sarcastic). Lame! My first and hopefully my last. Eeek! I never knew how bad they were. And how deaf I'd be. Doctor says I'll get my full hearing back in 30 days...listening to music isn't very fun right now. Regardless, it was still a good trip!

While in Utah we...

Look who else graduated this weekend...

I made Wyatt take this picture because I was feeling cute. It just happened to be in front of the McDonald's we stopped at to fill our water bottle. I don't know why it's so important to me for you to know that we didn't eat there. Weird.

Tulip Fest

One of the best things about living in Oregon is being able to enjoy all the greenery...and non-green greenery. Two weekends ago Wyatt and I attempted to go to the Tulip Festival. However, like everyone else, we decided to go on the nicest day of the year. It was sunny and 79 degrees. When we turned onto the road the farm was located on - there was a LONG crawling line of cars. We were on the moto - dressed in all our moto getup - and roasted in the line for about two minutes before we decided to throw in the towel. (Later we found out from some friends that they waited in the line of cars for two and a half hours. Eeek!) We decided to try a second take this past weekend and proved to be successful. The crowds were at a minimum and the tulips were beautiful...as you can see from the pictures. The only downfall was it was FREEZING! I guess that's what we get for foregoing the nicest day. Regardless, it was still beautiful!

Things I've Tasted

I haven't posted in a awhile.

Here's a partial list of things that I've tasted that I probably shouldn't have...

Gasoline
Diesel
Motor Oil
Gear Oil (in manual transmissions)
Automatic Transmission Fluid
Brake Fluid
Antifreeze
Power Steering Fluid
Rubbing Alcohol
Acetone
Laundry Detergent
Bleach
Hand soap
Shampoo
Conditioner
Blood (my own)
Cologne

My favorite was handsoap, the sissiest of the things on my list. My least favorite was diesel, probably because I got so much (siphoning a car[legally but stupidly]).

What is the strangest thing you've tasted?

Sweeney Todd

Wyatt and I saw Sweeney Todd last night.

This Sweeney Todd:
Not this one.
Anyway, a man from my work has season tickets to the theater and couldn't go to this show so I ended up with the pair of tickets for free! Sweet! I must say, despite the recent publicity of the show (due to the Johny Depp movie), I really had no idea what it was about...except for the part about the demon barber. The show was entertaining in a sick and twisted kind of way. I did enjoy the lighter parts of the show - which were still pretty dark, aka: dark comedy. Other than that, I think I was too disturbed with the rest of the story to really enjoy it. I purposefully didn't read up on the show so it'd be a surprise when we went. Well, with all the singing and music playing, I was able to gather only half of the preface of the story. So when I asked Wyatt about it during intermission (he read Wikipedia) it put me over the top after I knew how the rest of the story went. Regardless of what musical theater show I'm attending, I just don't like the shrilling sound of both the instruments and women's opera voices. And this show had a lot of that. To sum my opinion up in a nut shell: First Act = okay, Second Act = enjoyed it, Third Act = could've done without. My favorite part of the whole show - when the Judge's lyrics to the song were "bom, bom, bom, bom, bom..."

Van for Sale...Sort Of

I don't think anyone will find this as amusing or funny as I did but I laughed so hard all day that I felt like it was worthy of its very own post.

Wyatt's dad had asked him to post the above Trans Am for sale on craigslist. Well, Wyatt got a couple of responses in reference to the Trans Am and one in reference to the van. Yep, you see that van in the background? That is what they were inquiring about. This is what the email said, "how much for the old dodge van in the picture? thanks!" Very weird. It still makes me laugh when I think about it.

How Many Push-Ups Can You Do?

I can do 10. TEN! Which is quite sad because it wasn't more than a few years ago that I remember being able to do 30 or 40. Okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. But I do remember being able to do several push-ups with little or no effort. And I remember being the girl who could do the most push-ups in gym class when I was in elementary school. Not the case now. Yet another reason why getting old stinks!
