The Sun and All Its Glory

I know that it's been a while since I last posted. It's just that I haven't felt like I've had anything exciting to share. Not that I think my life isn't exciting...it's just that I don't think its excitement is worthy of an audience. Seeing that my blog has been in a 17-day lull, I thought it was about time to post something...

The sun has decided to grace us with its presence the past few days...and it's foretasted to stay for the next few more! Hooray! Wyatt and I set out on a five-hour drive yesterday to enjoy the sun and the scenery. We headed west through the city on highway 30 towards Astoria (known best from the movie "Goonies"). Then we headed south on 101 toward Seaside. And looped back home on 26. What a glorious day!

The town of Astoria.

Wyatt posing with the Astoria Column.

I realize that I'm 100% in the shadows...because I think it's the background that deserves the focus.

Crossing the Astoria bridge to Washington.

I think that's Mt. Saint Helen's in the far right background. Though I'm sure one of my Pacific Northwest knowledgeable readers will inform me that it's really Mt. Adam's, or Mt. Jefferson or some other peak. The point is that it was a clear and SUNNY day!

"What's that in the sky?", you ask? Oh why, that's the SUN!

I thought I'd pretend like I was roaming in the desert...

Seaside, Oregon.

Admiring the blue, blue skies!

Taking note of the first time Sam (my car) has driven on the beach. Doesn't he look at peace?

I LOVE my car!

So pretty much, as you can see, we enjoyed the sunny (and WARM) day. When we left Portland it was WINDY! To our surprise (and enjoyment) it was about 60d and calm on the coast. There was hardly a breeze in the air. Quite the opposite of the Oregon Beach norm. What a fantastic day!

What a fun trip! And you're right, that is Mt. St. Helens. I'm glad the sun came out for you too. That winter weather was rough.

I'm glad to see that you are learning your Northwest Mountains....you're almost one of us! Looks like you had a great day. I haven't been to Astoria for a loong time. Maybe I should road trip in the near future.

I think it is Mt Everest. But it was a good guess.

I want to drive my car on the sand.

" The lighthouse, the resturant and the rock all fit the doubloon." I love the Goonies! I have a Sam I love too, but mines a kid. And he's white, and he like the beach. But I don't drive him, he drives me - crazy.

Surprisingly, you are correct. The rim of Mt. Adams and Mt. Jefferson are not that shallow, and Mt. Rainer would be too far away to see that well. Now don’t let you puny little head get too big and explode just because you got that right. Hee hee hee.
