Ta-Da!

I did it! I finished my project. Who knew sewing a swimsuit would be so difficult? There were several hours devoted to pulling out stitches... Not to mention the disproportionate body I have. Cutting the pattern was a chore in itself. My measurements really did fall into four of the five sizes: Torso, XL. Waist, M. Hips, S. Bust, XS...of course. And trying to alter the pattern to mimic this swimsuit, YIKES!

Thanks to my sister (the one who made this dress) who coached me through the process. Several times I had to resist the urge to throw my half-finished project in a box and ship it to her to finish the job. I'm really happy I didn't. Though I'm very aware that my new swimsuit looks very homemade. Oh well.

Now I'm onto my next project:

Thanks to Spandex World (for all my spandex needs)!

I am super impressed. From the picture it doesn't look home made. Very cute. Can't wait to see what you make with the flowers!

You rock! That's quite a good rendition of the brown one, including the modeling! Makes me wish I had the time to get back into sewing. But currently, if I get a shower in amidst feeding everyone and making sure their bums are clean, I feel accomplished.

I made a swimsuit in high school....it was all cotton (can you imagine?) and I LOVED that thing!

I was just lamenting my stupid swimsuit yesterday.....maybe I should check out some spandex for myself? HA! The first thing I'd have to get out is my seamripper!

I agree that your rendition looks very much like the original...very impressive!

I left a comment here the other day about your fab swimsuit and your budding talent--and it didn't show up. Am I being black-listed? This isn't the first time my comments haven't shown up!

I officially hate you. You not only sewed an AWESOME suit, but you look smokin' hot in it. I run just as much as you, sister, and won't even take my shorts off in a suit. I am GREEN with envy. But, good job!!! So darling!
